The singer shimmied in and out of an impressive eight costumes during the opening show in Paris. Watched from the audience by her ex-boyfriend Olivier Martinez, she tripped around the stage in a glittering beaded corset, slinky gowns and more fanciful outfits such as a cheerleader's uniform and a sailor's jacket.

THRILLED KYLIE MINOGUE waves to fans yesterday after receiving France's highest cultural honour. The singer, 39, wore the Order of Arts and Letters medal in Paris. France's culture minister Christine Albanel praised her for going public with her breast cancer battle. She said: “The ‘Kylie effect' encourages women to have regular checks.”

KYLIE MINOGUE is racking up the honours. The pop princess has already bagged an OBE in the New Year Honours List and now she's added one of France's highest cultural awards to her haul. The chart-topper will become a Knight In The Order Of Arts And Letters on May 5 when she receives the accolade from the country's Minister Of Culture. It celebrates Kylie's “contribution to the enrichment of French culture”. Conveniently, the singer will be in the country anyway as her X2008 tour kicks off in Paris the next day.
